To be honest! When we first spotted this flap bag, we weren’t impressed. The multicolor Tweed Flap and the lambskin on the bottom, we were like it’s okay but not enough to make us obsessive. But then we saw this bag in real life, this changed our mind. Meet the Chanel Tweed Nylon Astronaut Essentials Flap Bag from the Fall Winter 2017 Collection Act 2.

The Design

Chanel-Tweed-Nylon-Astronaut-Essentials-Flap-Bag-3

This is a sophisticated handbag created with complicated mix of materials. This bag is also designed to match to the rocket and astronaut theme. And that’s why the flap is crafted in multicolor Tweed, with colors like red and white in dark black ground.

This bag is made with combination of Tweed, Nylon and lambskin. The medium-sized tassels hanging from the flap is suppose to mirror a rocket ship on its way to the galaxy, or a star flying in the Universe. The center of the flap features the smooth CC logo in silver hardware and the bag comes with multiple chains for shoulder and cross body carry.

The flap of the bag is made with Tweed, but the bottom part of the bag is designed in diamond quilting.

The Interior

The inside of this bag can be compared to the Classic Flap Bag. It’s big enough to be your everyday bag and the main compartment can store all your daily essentials. It also comes with a zip or patch pocket.

PRADA SPRING SUMMER 2018 RUNWAY BAG COLLECTION

Categories:Other Brands

Prada-Spring-Summer-2018-Runway-Bag-Collection-54

Welcome to Prada 2.0! This high fashion brand has been experimenting with a lot of new designs and we’re finally seeing the fruit of their labor. Their Spring Summer 2018 Runway is quit interesting because it’s packed with a lot of gorgeous handbags. They have created new bags and also added a few twist to make them distinctive and intriguing. We’ve observed and picked out the best of the best, let’s talk about that.

Prada Studded Belt Flap Bag

Another flap bag is set to steal a lot of hearts, meet the new Prada Studded Bag. This beautiful thing will be released in the next season, but for now, let’s just glance and drool over it.

This bag is crafted in squared and boxy shape and it’s made in leather. Every piece of this object is exciting, like the unique-designed envelope-shaped front flap. However, all the attention is focused in the center because the lock is so shiny and sophisticated.

The center lock is first embellished with large pyramid studs in shiny hardware. The studs are stitched on the belt strap. Then it’s refined with the Prada logo. This bag can be worn on your shoulder or cross body. The leather strap is also studded and it can be detached.

What I also like about this bag is the option to choose colorful shades.

Prada Belt Tote Bag

Prada-Spring-Summer-2018-Runway-Bag-Collection-9

Belt, belt, belt. Recently, Prada has been obsessed with belt and ribbons. They have been adding these two components in a lot of new handbags. Take for example the Cahier Bag and the Ribbon Bag.

For the next season, be prepared for this unique Belt Bag but there is no worry because Prada is good at making tote bag. And if you are fan of Prada, you will instantly recognize the new Prada logo in the center top. This logo is made in leather patches and they’re stitched. But what’s unique about it, is that it’s mirrored from the signature Prada logo which also features the pyramid stud.

This bag is made with an extra long belt strap as an extension of the handle. The belt strap is designed in bi-color and finished with different-shaped studs.

What’s more, the bag itself is also available in bi-color. The shades of the body and the leather handles are separated.

ESSAY: HOW MODELS ARE EXPOSING FASHION’S SEXUAL HARASSMENT PROBLEM

Categories:Other Brands

Earlier this month, the Harvey Weinstein scandal saw a wave of high-profile actresses accusing the movie producer of sexual harassment and assault. This inspired the #MeToo campaign which led to women and men telling their stories of harassment across many industries.

And fashion was no exception. In the wake of the Weinstein controversy, model and activist Cameron Russell shared anonymous accounts from models dealing with harassment and abuse on and off set. Each retelling featured the hashtag #MyJobShouldNotIncludeAbuse.

And then, a bombshell as a leaked email from publishing company Condé Nast announced its decision to no longer work with photographer Terry Richardson. For years, accusations of sexual harassment have been leveled at the American lensman. In 2014, it appeared to come to a head when multiple models came forward with their stories, grabbing headlines. Richardson’s career took a hit, but his work started to pick up in recent years.

So what caused the sea change for the industry after years of rumors and allegations? It all starts with models bravely telling their stories.

CAMERON RUSSELL STARTS THE #MYJOBSHOULDNOTINCLUDEABUSE HASHTAG

For one, major names in modeling have begun to speak about a culture of harassment in fashion. For Russell, she took to her Instagram and shared numerous stories of abuse with blacked out names. The American model wrote about the recountings: “This was not an exposé because nothing in these stories should be a revelation for those working in our industry. Instead it was the beginning of a power shift. We are speaking to each other, we are speaking up, we are speaking to lawyers, and we are speaking to well resourced reporters.”

Russell concluded with: “We all know who the perpetrators are and we continue to work with them. STOP. Advertisers and magazines, stop hiring these people. Agencies, stop sending them talent. Stop today. Do not wait until lawyers get involved. Do the right thing because the wrong thing is horrific.”

MODELS DEMAND ACTION

Speaking to the New York Times, British model Edie Campbellalso talked about the abuses in the industry and reiterated Russell’s point. “The reality is that the floodgates are already open regarding Terry Richardson...The difficulty is addressing the other people — the ones who are celebrated by the fashion industry, and who are still at the very heart of it. This will not be solved simply by banning the use of one photographer.”

Sara Sampaio would also go on to share an experience on set at French men’s magazine Lui where she felt pressured to pose nude. The Victoria’s Secret Angel claims that she had a no nudity clause for the cover shoot. But during the shoot she felt intimated to model naked, and became upset when the offending images were published.
